War on Disabled

SF Senior and Disability Action has generated a 'Mad Mob' to press city hall for inclusion of mental health services patients in the process of creating public mental health policy. Since anxiety and depression are treatable diseases when adequately funded, they say, the supervisors and Mayor Breed are wrong-headed in their court-ordered conservatorship "war on unhoused and disabled people."

Ten Years After

When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi presided over the bank bailouts ten years ago, she announced, "The party's over." The party, however, was just getting started, with finance capital CEOs immediately rewarding themselves with multi-million dollar bonuses. Ten years after, the resulting social wreckage can be seen on the roadsides and under bridges, as the socially-displaced attempt to survive the malign neglect of Congress.

Health Services Plan

San Francisco's Healthcare System Master Plan is intended to address the urgent lack of access to preventative services and medical facilities for seniors and adults with behavioral health challenges. Over the last decade, the city has seen a 47% decline in skilled nursing beds to accommodate them.
