Redwoods Return

164 acres of second growth redwoods may not seem like much, but when your ancestors lived there among the old growth ancestors of these trees for a thousand years, the cultural ties can outweigh the limited domain. As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Save the Redwoods League has returned the land located on the northwestern Mendocino coast to the descendants of the 10 Indian tribes with ancestral ties to the area. As the returning stewards, the InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council representing the tribes looks forward to gathering and celebrating this reconnection.
