Tony's Shoe Repair

Since I take my daily walk past Tony's Shoe Repair, I was happy to see the proprietor, Misak Pirinjian, featured in the Chronicle. Along with good cheer and great value, Misak also dispenses dog cookies and friendly advice. What more could you ask for?

First Fry

As spring sets in with roaring fog and migratory bird singing, we spotted the first fry in Corte Madera Del Presidio Creek. Chancing upon the pool of this years crop of Steelhead trout behind the Mill Valley Public Library certainly brightened our day. Between now and fall, when autumn rains move the eight-inch smolt down to Richardson Bay, we look forward to watching these fry grow and dash through the shallows in the shadows of the redwoods.

Lange Collections

The San Francisco Museum has collections by Dorothea Lange, a San Francisco photographer hired by the US government to document migrants in the 1930s, and Japanese internment in the 1940s.
