Double Gold

Lee Evans--Olympic gold medalist and Olympic Project for Human Rights member--died Wednesday. Along with fellow San Jose State 200 meter sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos, Evans made a televised visual protest against American racism at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. His track and field world record in the 400 meter stood for 20 years.
