Fine Artist Mark Gould

My friend Mark Gould, a San Francisco-based graphic artist and webmaster of Public Good Project, formerly taught at the Art Institute of California, before serving a five-year stint as web designer at New College of California, where we met in July 2002. When we got together in Haight-Ashbury at People's Cafe in July 2007 to discuss the impending collapse of New College, Mark was living in the panhandle of Golden Gate Park. Now retired, he resides in Lower Nob Hill--half a block from where Sam Spade phoned Effie Perine from the all-night drug store at the corner of Bush and Taylor, when his partner Miles Archer was bumped off tailing Floyd Thursby in Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon.
